This year, Gregory Mountain Products have come on board to offer some trek-tastic prizes for our People’s Choice Winners. Here’s why we think they are ace:
Wayne Gregory was an innovative adventurer from an early age. At just 14 he designed his first backpack as part of a boy-scout project and he had a theory – that a pack, like a shoe, is worn, not carried and therefore must be properly sized for each individual torso length.
Wayne never lost his passion for innovative ideas. He founded Gregory Mountain Products in 1977 and in his first store Wayne Gregory would question customers about durability and fit, constantly striving to find solutions to any problems.
Today, the company continues to push the boundaries of design.
Gregory was the first to build backpacks in different frame, harness and waist belt sizes; and was the first (and still only) pack manufacturer to develop a waist-belt system that adjusts to fit different hip angles.
They use state-of-the-art prototype development and engineering testing labs to ensure that each backpack offers the highest levels of comfort on any type of adventure. Each new design is then taken out into the field, before it is released, to see how it performs in real life situations.
Gregory believes that nothing should hold you back as you head out on your adventure and that is why they are giving away 2 backpacks to the most popular WildChina Explorer Grant applicants in 2016.
