Architecture and Conservation in Guizhou Villages: A Talk with Dr. Kuanghan Li [in Mandarin] (Event #14)

In a small green valley to the mountainous southeast of Guizhou lies Dali village, home to the Dong ethnic minority group. The Dong people have practiced skilled textile craftsmanship and masonry for over 1,000 years, but with younger generations moving away to find work, this longheld traditional craft risks being lost. In an effort to preserve the community’s cultural heritage, the residents of Dali, together with Beijing-based Studio Atlas and the Global Heritage Fund, created the Dali project. Join us for a talk with Dr. Kuanghan Li from the Global Heritage Fund to get to know this special community and learn how the Dali Project has transformed the village through sustainable economic development.
