My partner and I just returned from a 10 day trip (Beijing, Yangshuo, Longsheng, Shanghai, Hangzhou) throughout China and it far exceeded our expectations! As seasoned travelers (this was around our 30th country visited) we had high standards and the team at WildChina did a great job of learning about our travel style and creating a tailor-made trip that suited us perfectly…The entire team went so above and beyond to make sure that we had the best possible experience – it felt like I didn’t have to make any decisions, they just anticipated what we wanted before we even knew it!

We are fairly experienced travelers on our 1st trip to China and knew that we would only see a very small sample of China in the couple of weeks we had. After a previous excursion to X’ian arranged by WildChina, we had the confidence in their services to book a 7-day tour of Kashgar, Turpan and Dunhuang…In each place, WildChina made smooth travel arrangements and engaged local guides who spoke excellent English. Our WildChina representative responded promptly to all requests and questions during the planning phase and was in communication with our guides and with us during the trip. We would highly recommend traveling to this region in the fall, for the weather and all the fresh fruits.

From the first contact with WildChina (I worked with Isabel), I felt that I had a travel agent who was genuinely listening to me and my husband and our wants/desires for this trip, and she crafted an itinerary that was simply flawless…It was a level of customized service that many don’t provide, but that – as a frequent luxury traveler – I sincerely appreciate. We wanted to finally thank you for arranging for us such a fabulous trip to China. It was truly an adventure of a lifetime. From the bustling cities of Beijing to the bucolic countryside of Guilin, we were taken by China’s unique beauty, character and tradition. We enjoyed seeing awe-inspiring sights like Tiananmen Square, the Terracotta Warriors and the Great Wall, but we also appreciated more intimate experiences like painting, cooking, and home visits with locals that enabled us to experience Chinese culture first-hand. During our stay in China we visited Xi’an for four days. We were very fortunate to come across the services of WildChina, who not only provided a very detailed and interesting itinerary, but left us in the care of our guide, Maggie, who was superb. We were keen to really explore the culture and food of China, and felt we really got to know this city, including some of its more local attractions and restaurants. We enjoyed a wide range of activities, from cycling on the city’s wall through to trying out calligraphy and making dumplings (!).

The plans made for us by WildChina were spot on and well executed. The hotels you recommended were fantastic. We all loved the Waldorf in Beijing and the girls loved The Opposite House on the last evening there. We loved the super hip neighborhood. The guides and drivers we had really made our trip. She was always professional, took incredible care of us and appropriately shared some her life stories which we all really enjoyed because it shed light on everyday life in China…Thanks for an unforgettable trip.

The guides were well educated, courteous, kind, thoughtful, and friendly. They were all knowledgeable about each area we visited. We could not have navigated this trip without the guides. Also, the trip was too vast and expansive to try and go it alone. Literally, we would never have gotten out of Beijing without the guide’s help… It was a trip of a lifetime and we loved every minute of the vacation. Many of the details were so well suited to our family- hiking, natural sites, luxurious lodges, delicious (and clean, safe) food and water, tea, religious monuments, and a spacious and comfortable van. We felt safe and well attended at all times.

We particularly want to say that Joyce Ying (Shanghai), An Na (Beijing), Jessica Zhu (Xian), Dustin Zhang (Chengdu), James Lee (Guilin), and David Leung (Hong Kong) enhanced our trip each day with their warmth, humor, knowledge, and suggestions of off-the-beaten-path of things to see, do, buy and explore…things we would have never discovered on our own. Things we didn’t necessarily plan for as well as fulfilling our requests of stuff we wanted to do. They are true GEMS in the sea of tour guides. The trip was truly fabulous, beautifully coordinated, absolutely stimulating and great fun. We enjoyed ourselves tremendously and appreciated the professionalism, creativity and energy of the guides. The outing with BanBan to the Buddhist paintings and Tian Yi’s tomb was a memorable highlight, and meeting Jenny was an added bonus. Kudos to Shirley in Beijing, Maggie in Xi’an, Dustin in Chengdu, Joe in Luoyang, Jay in Guilin and beyond and, of course, Ariel the Energizer Bunny in Shanghai for keeping up with our pace and feeding our intellectual and culinary curiosities. In Beijing we made it to the city and had our driver and guide waiting for us at the airport. Everything went off without a hitch in Beijing and the guides were very professional and adapted very well to a changing schedule over the following few days. It was definitely a requirement to have a translator and a driver in this city due to the congestion and difficult driving experiences. The trip was an amazing experience and a great way to hit my sixth continent, thank you again for planning this so well and adapting when the flights got cancelled on us.

We just returned from a 15 day trip to China. From start to finish, WildChina did an incredible job. It’s certainly not a cheap way to travel, but you get what you pay for. From our initial inquiry, the travel planning team were incredibly responsive and insightful. They put together a superb itinerary and gave us full transparency into the costs. Once we landed in China, everything exceeded our expectations. The guides were superb – warm, knowledgeable, flexible and thoughtful. Special mention to Michael in Beijing, and Ariel in Shanghai who were like members of our family. We still miss them and talk about them…WildChina easily surpassed our wildest dreams!

No guide book on China can come close to the great information provided by Kendra at WildChina. My mission was to see the NON tourist China, this was accomplished by Kendra and WildChina. I visited and saw a great variety of exciting scenery, excavations, visiting homes, visiting with the minorities, participating in interactive activities, taking in cultural events, eating a variety of foods in local places , and hours of discussion learning unknown history. All the eight guides, we had specialized in their province, spoke perfect English and were able to explain many different aspects of current and past China history, culture and life of the people. My husband, daughter and I booked a four day tour in Beijing with WildChina and had a fantastic experience. Our family visited China for 11 days in April and had a fabulous time. WildChina was easy to work with in terms of flexibility in itinerary. The trip itself was easy and no stress. We contacted Alice Zhang at WildChina Travel at the last minute to organize a trip to the area around Guilin. Our guide Wei Wu was sensational. His English is excellent — with lots of correct idiomatic usage. He was deeply informative and we talked about society, political economy, art, and history. When we expressed an interest in trying local delicacies, he brought us to his favorite place for stuffed snails and beerfish as well as noodle soup in the Yangzhuo market.
When our flight was cancelled, Alice handled reorganizing our flights and Wei took us to a tea farm then had dinner with a glorious sunset overlooking the karst mountains of Guilin.View on TripAdvisor.

I arranged a two week visit completely by email with WildChina. We patterned after China Treasures sample itinerary and then modified for our specific desires. Each communication I made produced a response when I woke up the next morning. The schedule, hotels and meals were all outstanding, and the local guides WildChina arranged outside of Beijing were top notch. The pace was very good despite our trip including the known crowds of the May holiday. The extensive bulletin provided in advance left us quite prepared and free of any anxiety on our first trip to China.

We had an amazing trip. Isabel was helpful and responsive setting it up and the guides Jerry and Maggie were excellent. (Maggie even managed to sort out a problem with a lost piece of luggage.) I would definitely recommend WildChina to others. Whilst booking I thought WildChina to be expensive but when in China the guides and general organization were so good that I was very pleased we chose them.

Our tour guide, Raymond was phenomenal – he was great and our group absolutely loved him. He was kind, informative, and had a great personality – we enjoyed spending the day with him. He helped our group navigate the Great Wall while saving us from some common tourist traps. Many of us are well traveled and he was the best guide we have encountered.

My son and I traveled to Beijing, Shanghai, and Hong Kong and we LOVED the services of WildChina. Before our trip, Maynard and Kendra had impeccable communications and suggestions in planning our itinerary, and in giving us tips before we left. In Beijing, Shirley was amazing. She was the perfect guide and made changes in the days to fit any and all requests we had. In Shanghai, Patrick was exceptional. We drove out of the city, one day, to Tongli, and the information he provided throughout the trip was fascinating! We also took a sidecar ride through Shanghai, and this was one our favorite experiences. Finally, Anna was our guide in Hong Kong. She is energetic, knowledgable, and fun! All our guides made every effort to make our trip exactly what we wanted, and provided excellent restaurant options. I would use WildChina for any of my trips.

Just returned from our second WildChina adventure – to Thailand and Myanmar, and their logistics support is jaw-dropping. Flawless airport greetings, transfers, and engaging guides at every stop. All their guides are personally interviewed by the home office and they are superb. The hotel choices are thoughtful, and in the planning phase they are 24 hours or less responsive. And in general cheaper and a better value than the big North American bespoke companies. Also travelled with them through China, and this second trip was at least as good as the first.
WildChina may be the best travel company we’ve experienced, anywhere.

WildChina was exceedingly helpful. Their advance work on our trip was helpful in assisting us in thinking through exactly what we wanted to prioritize seeing. Shirley helped group the places in a manner that equalized our activities and gave us additional time to add more items of interest. She was articulate with excellent English. She and the driver were able to get us close to each place we were headed so that we did not waste time. Shirley was very responsive to our questions about the places we were seeing, the general culture, political history, and life in her native Beijing today. She told us many interesting facts and stories about the classic sights we visited together and was responsive to our pace and interests. She found us places to eat lunch together and helped us navigate the menus while being attentive to our dietary restrictions. Her caring about us made all the difference.

The trip was beyond our expectations.I often felt you were the wings on our shoulders while we were experiencing so much. In other words you were an extra set of ears and eyes being watchful from afar.You were a pleasure to work with while organizing our itinerary. I found the Four Seasons Tented Camp, Bagaan Lodge Hotel and Inle Princess particularly wonderful and comfortable. A great surprise was the 137 Pillar House in Chiang Mai. It is beautiful and luxurious as wellI would categorize the Yangon Sule Shangri-La Hotel as a business hotel. It was perfectly fine but nothing special. I did notice that we drove past the Pan Pacific Hotel which looks like a new establishment. I would recommend that you check it out.We also drove past a Kempinski hotel under construction.Thank you again for making our trip an extra special experience.

I was going to be spending three weeks in South East Asia and thought that since I was “in the neighborhood” I would pop up to Beijing to see the Great Wall and Forbidden City… WildChina planned everything beautifully. Our guide Abraham was a delight, extremely knowledgeable but also friendly and fun. He went well above and beyond in his service. He knew I was on a mission to bring back for my son some Udon noodles and rice noodles and took it upon himself to find them in his spare time in the evening!
