Cantonese Opera Museum on Enning Lu
Mansion of Generalissimo Sun Yat-sen

Cycle through markets, temples, wedding dress markets, former opium dens, and of course the Pearl River. Get a feel for the local’s Guangzhou alongside the hidden history only locals, like your guide, know about.

About this Journey

Get a feel for the city’s trading spirit as you ride through Liwan’s Xiguan wholesale markets and the Qingping dried goods market. Explore Shamian Island and learn about the unique history of the island and its buildings, before checking out the ‘Canton Bund’. Next, board the Pearl River Ferry and arrive on the ‘forgotten’ side of the river where you will visit the stunning Haizhuang Buddhist Temple. Then, crisscross through alleyways in the Nanhuaxi village where time has stood still for hundreds of years, preserving former opium dens, outdoor markets, ancient villas, and ancestral halls.

Continue to ride through a famous wedding dress market, popping out along the Pearl River, where you’ll finish at the stunning mansion of Generalissimo Sun Yat-sen.
